The story of the Cathedral island is presented as a narration and interactive exposition. For the last six years we have been encouraging you to experience our exposition with all your senses: by looking, listening and touching. We ask everyone to discover the past at their own pace, following whatever catches your attention the most. Now we are facing an extraordinary challenge. The global pandemic and restrictions associated with it have forced us to make changes. We have always been encouraging you to touch all elements of the exposition but now we are obligated to ask you to refrain from touching anything for the sake of your own and other people`s safety.
For the last few weeks we have been working to ensure your safety and at the same time to keep as much as possible of the visiting experience you may remember from your previous visits to Porta Posnania. We have reorganized all multimedia presentations so that you can still learn about the history of Cathedral Island without the necessity of touch screen functions. We have provided strict procedures for audio guides disinfection so they could still guide you through the exposition and tell you about the unique character of the Cathedral Island. We have introduced new elements of the exhibit compensating for the lack of use of certain multimedia.
Families with children who are 5-10 years old are welcome to get to know the Porta Posnania exposition by choosing the family tour. Through the headphones you will hear the voice of Jacob, the captain of the time vehicle who will guide you through the exposition. Many riddles and not so easy tasks are awaiting the brave explorers! The offer resumes on July 3rd and is available in Polish and English.
We recommend the combined “3in1” ticket which allows you to tour three institutions of culture on the Cathedral Island : Porta Posnania, Museum of Archdiocese and the Archeological Reserve Genius Loci.
Starting July 3rd we invite you to tour the Cathedral island with an audio guide. We have two tours available for you to choose from : individual - for adults and youth and a family tour.
We would like to invite you to visit our temporary exhibition In God’s and people’s books. The world of Jan Lubrański.
