Architectural accessibility
Porta Posnania can be accessed from Gdańska Street and from Dziekańska Street. Both entrances have no thresholds and the door opens automatically. Part of the pavement surface in front of the entrance is made of irregular granite cube. On Gdańska Street, there is a parking lot with designated places for people with disabilities. The distance from the car park to the main entrance is approx. 200 m. There is also the possibility for you to take your assistance dog inside. The TOTUpoint system helps you reach the entrance and easily move around In the Accessibility tab at https://bramapoznaania.pl/dostepnosc, you can find the audio description of the display, building and surroundings of the Porta Posnania. In the main lobby and each exhibition room, there are typholographic diagrams. In the cloakroom, you can rent a wheelchair and a baby carrier for your visit In the exhibition space, there are resting places and light chairs that can be used by visitors.
Information point, cash desk, cloakroom, toilet (adapted for people with disabilities) and entrance to the exhibition area are at the same level as the entrances to the building. Porta Posnania exhibition is located on 2 floors. You can enter the rooms by stairs or the lift in the main lobby. To use the lift, you must ask an employee or a member of the Customer Service Team to start it. From the main hall, you can go to the Galeria Śluza building. A glass, roofed footbridge leads to it. The door opens automatically. On the roof of Porta Posnania, there is a view deck. You can only get there by stairs in front of which there is a monitor with a current view from the deck. On the deck, there are boards picturing skyline (each object illustrated from the visitor’s point of view). One of the boards is a typhlography, which is in strong contrast with the others. At the information point, there are "Step by Step", easy-to-read brochures with the maps of Porta Posnania and a Guide for carers of children with special needs.
